Inspired by the extraordinary ways in which nature employs colour, pattern, texture and display to attract, communicate and ensure survival, CHROMISM 26/27 explores attraction as one of evolution's most remarkable creative forces. From the iridescence of butterfly wings and the extravagant plumage of birds to the vibrant blooms of flowering plants and elaborate courtship rituals found throughout the natural world, the collection transforms these phenomena into an exuberant celebration of fashion's ability to captivate, communicate and inspire.

"CHROMISM is about recognising that beauty has always had purpose," says Bam. "Long before humans created fashion, nature was already using colour, texture and spectacle to attract, persuade and communicate. Across millions of years, life has evolved extraordinary displays of ornament and performance. This collection imagines what happens when those instincts become clothing."

Independently produced, the collection became The BAM Collective's largest and most ambitious runway presentation to date, comprising thirty looks and an expanded exploration of colour, texture and silhouette. Garments unfold through a carefully orchestrated spectrum of black, pink, green, blue, yellow and silver, progressing from sculptural restraint to an unapologetic crescendo of colour and theatricality.

Textiles include sculptural bull denim, shimmering floral sequins, richly textured bouclés, striped taffetas, scalloped metallic finishes and lustrous satins, elevated through handcrafted fabric rosettes, exaggerated proportions and intricate in-studio detailing. Throughout the collection, sculptural silhouettes, radiant surfaces and layered textures echo the instinctive visual language of attraction found across the natural world.

Presented beneath the towering wattle trees of GROUND The Venue, the runway dissolved the boundary between fashion and landscape. Guests followed ribbon-lined forest pathways into a cinematic woodland where an operatic performance echoed through the trees before more than thirty looks emerged from the canopy in a procession of colour, spectacle and transformation. As golden afternoon light filtered through the leaves, the landscape became an inseparable part of the performance, blurring the distinction between nature and fashion.

At a time when fashion increasingly favours restraint and commercial predictability, CHROMISM 26/27 celebrates exuberance. It embraces colour without hesitation, theatre without apology and craftsmanship without compromise. It is a reminder that attraction is one of nature's oldest and most powerful creative acts, and that fashion continues that story through the language of dress.
